Tall Pines ATV Park

Rules & FAQ’s

Same park rules and answers that were on the old site. Read them before you ride.

Park rules

  • ALL riders and passengers must sign an insurance waiver.
  • Minors (children) under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an ADULT at ALL times while riding. No exceptions!
  • NEVER ride without your helmet — on the trails, the parking lots, camping areas, and when loading and unloading from trailers. Accidents can happen anywhere. Helmets must be worn ANY time the machine is moving.
  • If you are asked for your personal information (first and last name) by security or any other staff member of Tall Pines ATV Park and you choose not to give it, consider it your cue to pack up and get off our property.
  • All helmets must be DOT approved.
  • No three-wheelers are allowed to be ridden on the premises. No exceptions.
  • All trails are one-way. NEVER backtrack!
  • Speed limit on town roads is 20 MPH.
  • Speed limit in parking areas and camping areas is 5 MPH.
  • No night riding on trails. Be back by dusk.
  • Stay on marked trails.
  • No riding in our fields. No exceptions! You will be removed from the property immediately, charged with criminal mischief and trespassing, and you will be required to pay for damages. We take our fields very seriously.
  • USDA approved spark arrestors are REQUIRED. We will be checking.
  • NO OPEN EXHAUSTS — put your baffles back in. Keep our neighbors happy!
  • Stop at all road crossings.
  • Please be quiet and respectful near all of our neighbors’ houses.
  • Please be especially careful and courteous if you meet horses on the trail. Shut off your machine and let the horse pass.
  • If you see someone else doing something unsafe, please let us know.
  • Concealed carry is permitted, as long as you keep them concealed.
  • No inappropriate or dangerous objects on your machines. NO animal horns!
  • Please don’t burn your trash, as regulated by New York State DEC and EPA regulations.
  • If you experience or witness a trail emergency or hazard, please let us know. If the emergency is medical in nature, immediately call one of the numbers on the emergency contact cards at the registration area. Medical services are available.
  • If you require medical, fire, rescue, or mechanical assistance on the trails and notify Tall Pines staff, please stay in one place. It is difficult to locate you if you keep moving. If your problem is resolved before staff arrives, call back and tell us assistance is no longer needed.
  • When enjoying camp fires on Tall Pines property, please have water accessible for fire containment, especially in times of drought. Help us prevent brush and grass fires. If a fire becomes out of control, call 911 immediately and then call Tall Pines staff with your location.

If you are told to leave — you must leave, and you will not get a refund. Consider all money previously paid non-refundable.

Frequently asked questions

Do you rent ATVs?

NO — we do not rent any machines.

How do I cancel my reservation?

You must send an email to cancel your reservation. We only process cancellations via email, and there are no exceptions to this rule.

Email: TEK81949@GMAIL.COM

See cancellations for refund timing.

What if I arrive and the registration barn is closed?

There is a list of phone numbers on the door and on the table inside the door. Start at the top and start calling until you get somebody. Don’t give up. We are still an operating farm. We are close by and will come as soon as you call. If you don’t get someone right away, get unloaded and try again.

Is my EZ-Pass / old SmartWaiver still valid?

No. After November 9, 2025 those are no longer accepted. Fill out our online waiver once — it stays on file for 7 years.

Waiver instructions

Do I need to bring my driver’s license or ID?

YES. When you complete the online waiver you will be asked to upload a photo of your DL. If we do not have that image on file, you will be asked to provide it so we can add it to your waiver profile.

Why can’t I log in to the website?

You do not need a website account to book a cabin, sign a waiver, or buy/renew a season pass. Use the links on this site. Old WordPress logins from the previous website no longer work.

Can young children ride wearing a bicycle helmet?

ALL riders are required to wear DOT-approved motorcycle or ATV helmets. You don’t put a million-dollar head in a ten-dollar helmet!

Are the trails wide enough for my SxS?

Yes, except for the “Bikes Only” trails. They are all wide enough for any side-by-side we have ever seen. They are groomed by a bulldozer that is 7 feet wide.

Can my 18-year-old sign a minor waiver for his girlfriend, brother, cousin, friend, etc.?

The minor waiver must be filled out by the parent or legal guardian.

Additionally, the minor authorization (bring-along) must also be completed by the parent or legal guardian. More detail is on the waiver instructions page.

Why should I follow the directions on the website and not my GPS?

Two reasons: Barrett Hill Road and Pixley Hill Road. They are very steep, rough, NOT blacktopped, and are “Seasonal Use Roads.” They are marked as such. There is no maintenance — no plowing, sanding, or salting. Follow our directions and stay on the good blacktopped roads. You don’t want problems on the way here. Save yourself trouble and save your transmission. Use our directions.

Directions

Can I have my uncle and my cousin on my season pass?

NO. A Family Season Pass is for a mom and dad and minor children who live at home. Once the children are old enough to buy their own beer, they need to buy their own season pass.

How old does my child have to be to ride ATVs?

We leave that up to the judgement of the parents. We do, however, want to see young riders on a machine appropriate for their size and skill level. Children under 16 need to be under ADULT supervision.

How can I tell if a cabin is booked?

Use Book lodging and search your dates, or open the calendar / park map from that page. If a cabin is open for your stay, you can book it. If it is not listed or shows as unavailable, it is booked or closed for those dates.

What vehicles are allowed?

ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes ONLY. No exceptions.

Registration & insurance — required to ride?

According to NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law, it probably does. You are riding on private property here, but we don’t check or enforce this rule. However, if you have an accident where someone is injured, the State Police will be called by the hospital and you might get a ticket. Most side-by-sides cannot be registered in NYS. They are treated as equipment and can be driven on the public roads. If you want to go down into the village of Andover, you need to have license and insurance on all ATVs and bikes. Just insurance on side-by-sides.
